I think you have eloquently voiced what many are thinking.

Blimey, you lot are doing me a great favour by talking like this. At this rate, I'll soon be able to afford one!

I've got £15k cash waiting for the first owner to bail out.

Yes, but what to do? Keep and put up with it or sell and sleep at night?

Things can happen Scott, but not that often, and considering the number of cars out there now, it may be surprising that there hasn't been that big accident you are worried about, so, if it was me, I would just enjoy the car and drive with a modicum of mechanical awareness and deal with any problems as and when they happen. They may never happen in fact.

Or once it's out of warranty, take it to your local vehicle engineers and get them to inspect it and add some extra triangulation where necessary.

Next week 30+ of us will be careering around Swiss alpine passes. Yes there is an element of risk, but hopefully we will all survive! Pre-flight checks will be extensive (well, certainly on my part) and we will all be looking out for each other. It will be interesting to see the failure rates of a combined c20,000km in three days! List to follow... Tally Ho!

Perhaps Morgan should sponsor this event and support it...? I can't wait to hear what falls off or breaks and would like to bet £10 that at least one car breaks down on the trip. I sort of want to lose the £10 but also think this is probably the safest bet I've ever made!!!

My 2012 car is awaiting its recall and chassis amendments... It will be done at the 3 year service in a month or so's time I hope. Goodness knows what that will cost even if the chassis work is supposedly f.o.c. I will have done about 600 miles in 1 year, mostly waiting for something to fail.

Nothing has actually broken but I'm sorry to say I've not ventured more than 30 miles from home because I don't fancy getting stranded. Such a shame - really hoping that confidence in these little wonders starts to build soon...

The thing is I put my money down on the car that i can drive and in joy not fix everytime I go out ,if I want that I can drive 1930 car and take half my tool box with me,is this car a bad egg hope not time will tell ,I'm not going to get my car soon with all the cars going back to Morgan ,stop making them I say ,till you have fixed all these people cars that was not cheap, just looking on net at all I could have got for 38.000 but will I love them as much as the little Morgan ,dont think I will ,dont never gamble at all ,and here I am taking a big one

That's a very safe bet. Last year there were 13 of us and from memory we had two exhausts fall off, an accelerator cable breakage, two cam belt failures, a failed rectifier and the usual bobbin breakages. Laurens has the Swiss dealer bringing a support truck and a chief mechanic to support the sadly inevitable breakdowns. We will post updates as the adventure takes place! You need a spirit of adventure, deep pockets and a good breakdown service to drive an M3W. Being an 'overseas' owner brings a whole new world of problems and I envy all the UK guys who just dump it back at the factory for continual rebuilds.
