Copyright Violation?

Found this pic on the internet. Riding the red carpet with my M3W.

The pic may be covered by copyright - on the other hand it is me, my car and my lovely copilot.
I was not asked for permission to publish the image.
An elderly guy with a young copilot... could run into serious trouble if not be the daughter.
Or is it public interest to publish such issues as it's a M3W?
Any solid answers available for the questions?
drive

P.s.: don't take the copyright issue too serious!
I'm happy to have the picture as I do not have a selfy stick...

Lay back and relish the fact that you have a permanent reminder of a lovely day you and your Daughter enjoyed - end of story..

Not quite. Copyright automatically exists whether stated or not and the default position should be do not use without getting permission. There are all sorts of variations such as single use for educational purposes which itself has limitations and legitimate use for critical/review purposes. It is all rather a minefield and varies from country to country as well just to complicate matters. My initial comments refer to UK practice.
However it is unlikely that anyone is going to get upset about one off non-commercial use of an image.
Just remember that perhaps selling their images is their livelyhood.

OK, got the message regarding copyright violations. innocent

It means, I got no copyright for my M3W, my co-pilot or my green barret while the photographer has a copyright on the pic, published on the internet.

For that reason I herewith officially ask the photographer: does he disagree that I put the foto on this forum? If there is no reply within a forthnight I accept it as his confirmation for free duplication of "my" picture. Now everything has legal coverage.

Have to watch out for paparazzi in the future... laugh2

It just goes to show that if you want to have a secret lover don't take her out in any Morgan. Last time I had (quite innocently) a young lady, who was not my wife, in the car I was spotted by at least 3 people including mum-in-law smile

In Australia a film of me flying a very unusual hang glider of my own design was used in movie theatre advertising. I wrote to the company with a very mild "it would have been nice to ask me" and they did not even bother to reply but the ad was immediately withdrawn. All I wanted was to be asked (perhaps a request accompanied by a nice box of the companies products would have been quite acceptable).

Back to the old topic:
Today I realized that we made it to the internet headline of the Newspaper "Oesterreich" on August 23rd. I had to share the front page with Kim Jong-Un.
A "very high quality publication", similar to the SUN in the UK.
Their quality research took the M3W as the perfect example for an Oldtimer car.
And: I was not registered at the Vienna Classic Days but that did not bother them either...

It's a feature of the forum software, it does not allow posting embedded pictures in replies to topics in galleries.

We had a car show in my town over the last bank holiday and I spotted a WW2 Jeep that was right-hand-drive, something I'd never seen before. I spoke to the lady owner who told me her husband had recently built it for her, it looked very authentic but he had insisted on it being rhd because it would be safer. I looked in the show programme, produced by the local paper who sponsored the event, and saw it was listed as a 2014 Jeep Recreation.

In the same local paper a couple of days later were pictures of the lady owner holding a giant silver cup for best in show together with a story of how the Jeep had transported American soldiers across the beaches during the D-Day landings!

A photograph of me was taken, without my knowledge, as I chatted to a friend in the King's Road, Chelsea, in about 1966. I had shoulder-length hair but was carrying a briefcase.

An aunt who lived in Cape Town later showed me the photo printed across most of a spread of a large-format South African magazine. The accompanying article was about the decadence of "Swinging London".
