Visited chum today who has the luxury of his own four point lift and was able to have a really good look at the underside of my 2009 Plus 4 . Discovered a strange little electrical component attached by cable tie to the front nearside axle tube .Can anyone tell me what it is .It is approx 6 x 1.5 x 1.5 cms and has a wavy piece of sprung steel at one end and two wires that go into the loom by the crank sensor.Sorry not able to take a pic as wife is away for the w/e and has the camera.

If it's the gizmo that sits in a little 'cage', I believe it's the outside air temp sensor which will input the ECU for cold starting. That's just me applying ignorant logic by the way.

Well, here's the object in question.......  But here's the 'thing in a cage' which I was confusing with 'exhibit A'. This is tucked up behind the radiator amd I'm guessing may be the fan sensor for low speed/high speed changeover.............

It appears to be the ambient temperature sensor which presumably feeds into the ecu to determine cold starting procedure.
Don't feel too aggrieved if you are lacking this as it is just one more thing that can go wrong.
