Been thinking mostly black lately, anthracite pleats stitched black, chrome pack.
What's the consensus on the bonnet strap? Will it eventually scratch the finish?

Put some protective film under the strap.

The Bonnet straps I've seen for the M3W are decorative only, and don't hold anything, but if you want the look--go for it!
PS they attach to the bonnet not the body

Black can be so hard to keep clean... you have to love washing a car to own a black one... Or be able to rationalize that its a machine which gets used and be ok with a little bit of dirt. Rolling showroom OCD is a bit overrate in my humble opinion.

Oh, I enjoy my things, they are meant to be used! I take reasonable care not to have them knackered, but I also recognize that life comes with it's share of that. I'm liking black as it 'streamlines' the design somewhat, although RED is looking mighty fine, although my Alfa is red and I'm not mad about the idea of two red toys.
On a similar note, how do you wash it, do you snap the tonneau on and is that effective?

My personal taste is a light colored vehicle as this accentuates the engine and front suspension, helping to show the finer details that get muddled with a dark background.
This is why I went with Sport Teal, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. It is somewhat uncommon and looks sharp with the black or saddle brown leather. But if I were to have to pick a second that couldn't be like the first, I think I would go English white with a mulberry quilted interior.

There are some challenges to washing this vehicle. I do the majority of it with the tonneau cover on and then take it off before I dry and try to get at the area around the cover. There are always some paint "scuffs" around the cover. The cover does a pretty good job of keeping water out, even during a wash.
