Interesting as I've never heard of these before. Like the way the dash has a side/angled element to it.

Me too as my 4/4 is currently being built. I never would have considered a Morgan before the M3W came along. I think my rather ignorant view was Morgans were crusty old cars for crusty old people, that was until i understood what its all about and "got it"

I imagine the arrival of the M3W has brought a younger buyer into Morgan dealerships which can only be a good thing.

In fact it is likely essential for the long term prospects of Morgan so very effective "Bait" indeed. I'm 47 years old and buying a new 4/4 - my mates can't believe under 50s are allowed new Morgans - like they are some kind of retirement apartment accessory! I guess they don't get it yet either!.

You beat me by 2 years when I got my 4/4. You won't be disappointed and they will be losing out. Last week I was pulling out of a car park near Moel Famau and there was a group of about 20 school boys who were hiking. Virtually all of them waved vigorously as we were coming out the car park. They got it and it made us smile and wave.

I still have trouble getting my head around trad Morgan's, in all honesty.

I owned a 1953 MG TD for over 20 years, and apart from having an underpowered 1250cc engine, it was a better car in every way, After that, I've had various Caterhams ever since, another small family company, until recently, and cannot understand why MMC do things the way they do, sorry everone, I know to some, the company can do no wrong, but there it is.

The trad is just short of being great, although, and I really do wish this, the AR P4 could be THE ONE, let's hope so.

You should have dropped a 3.5 in the TD, best of both worlds.

What, compared to your 201x +4? That's really quite some claim, to be frank.

Did it really have superior handling, roadholding, brakes, suspension, transmission and ergonomics compared to your car? To be honest, I'm suspecting a touch of the old rose-tinted specs here mate.

Well IMHO Paul you are wrong!

Before I bought either of my Trads I had a good look round at more than a few other Classics. Have always been into all things Triumph for instance.

But with both my Trads I get "Classic Car" motoring experience linked with modern running gear - and dare I say it ....Reliabilty!!

I have neither the Skill,Time or Garage space to be continually fettling a 30/40/50/60s car.( And I have been there with Bikes BTW).

So my Morgan fills that gap - and I may suggest for very many others too??!!

The M3W got me into a showroom last year, but I walked out with a new 4/4. I had similar views to you, being a little younger again. How wrong I was. The 4/4 has turned out to be an utterly brilliant drive and experience. I'm a car-aholic and buy a couple each year on average. I've had everything from Porsches, M-Series to Morris Minor and Minis. Love the Morgan and you can make them your own. I have not written off owning an M3W, as yet as I still like the idea, but the 4/4 is going to take some beating.

I knew that would get a few of you going.

I am pretty serious though about my comments on the TD. If it had decent modern brakes, a 2l. Duratec and MX5 or T9 5 speed gearbox and only very slightly modified suspension, it would do everything a trad could do, but then again, who messes around with old cars like the TD?

Why bother? Because, despite everything I enjoy the car, inspite of the factory, not because of it, and as others have commented, I am old enough to remember a certain type of car from my youth, and which is not available anywhere else at any sort of half affordable price, so, it's Morgan or nothing.

I have already been told off about my views, but nevertheless, luckily we live in a free country, and TM is very light handed with moderation, [thanks Simon].

Just because something is good, it doesn't mean that it can't be better, and we all know that Morgans could be even better, or is it that I'm not wearing my rose tinted specs?
