Welcome, nothing wrong with dreaming or model making. My dream started at 10yrs of age. But I got there at 59yrs.i had a JZR kit car morgan replica. A good way to the real thing at a reasonable cost. Just a big model really happy3

Hi Geof and welcome to the mad house! Be careful as exposure to Morgans quickly becomes an addiction and you will be selling your granny to get one, I know I did. crazy2

There's also a very nice Morgan models book published in France with some very rare models illustrated.

First, let me thank you all for the very warm welcome from all of you who have replied to my first post. You all seem to be a great bunch of people, who share the same interest in Morgan cars and no doubt other classic cars of a bygone era.

Now to refer to your post Taffmog. First, my apologies, I have just had another look at my 1/16th scale Morgan in Ivory and it is not a plus 8, but a 4-4 Sports
It is a Kyosho model made in Japan and I bought it quite a few years ago for less than half the price of this one on sale from a German dealer on Ebay (see link below). Maybe they are getting harder to find. Not too keen on the Black paintwork, but it looks superb in Ivory.

Regarding the Three Wheeler Models by Minicraft, they are hard to come by and can be very expensive. The last one I came across was a few years ago, priced at $385 US, plus shipping charge of $55 US. A little bit too expensive for what I am prepared to pay for a model, hence the idea of trying to make one from scratch. I will no doubt keep looking, in case one does turn up at a reasonable price.
I will have a look for the book you mentioned, to add to my collection of Morgan books I already have. There are a few more books I would still like, to add to my collection

Hi again Geoff, yes I have the Kyosho models!, really excellent IMHO. LS made a 1/16 plus 8 kit and Polistil made some 1/16 models but not in Ivory. You should be able to pick up a 3 wheeler kit for £20 or so, keep looking on fleabay etc. Pm me your email address if you can't find any soon!
As for the book look at www.michelcoumes.com €43 delivered and recommended(!)

I've got an unassembled LS Plus 8 in the kit store: I bought it planning to convert it to a Roadster, but it has so many errors I concluded it wasn't worth the effort.

The main problem is that LS obviously couldn't believe that MMC would run the chassis under the rear axle, so LS engineered it with a nice curved chassis running up over the rear axle.

Anyway, if anyone wants it....

If you are patient.....it would help as you can start saving up.....there will be some 1/8th scale models of the 4/4 and Plus 4 hitting the market at some stage.
A Belgium couple brought a couple of prototype ones into the factory a couple of weeks ago for us to have a look at. As prototypes they needed a bit of work on the dimensions but should look stunning when finished. They won't be cheap!

Yes, I've got one of these. Apart from the bodywork, which is dimensionally ok, the rest of it is complete pants.

I have a vague plan to draw up the rest of the car properly in TurboCAD and print them using a 3D printer. The usual problem of course is that I haven't got one of those round tuits...
