I agree with the comments made so far, but the program was spoilt a bit for me by James May being such a buffoon.

I'll still watch the next episodes though.

I thought it was a fascinating insight into mass production. One thousand cars a day was one figure - the outputs are extraordinary. I'm always amazed at the planning behind the processes, incredibly complex.

In comparison with BMW and Nissan, Morgan looked positively medieval. And that was rather lovely - I like the fact the body of my car isn't built by a computer. I like things that are handmade. smile

It's light entertainment - but interesting.

I agree with you....he needs to realise that he's not still on TG competing with Clarkson. He can be very good but last night he came across as a bit of a prat...or as he'd say...a knob. I wasn't sure about Kate appearing on the program...she's too heavily associated with fluffy lambs etc, but I thought she did quite well. I found her Norwegian report interesting although she never mentioned how all that free electricity was produced!

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode.

I found it interesting- so did my sister, who admitted she would have passed it over if I'd not been staying with her. I'd like some background about the economics of the motor industry- how much profit do they make on each car? Just looking at all that robotic hardware and imagining the cost of design and development plus day to day wages, makes me wonder where all the money comes from!

Norway has the highest priced road fuels in Europe , and almost the lowest cost electricity, which is one of the prime reasons why urban Norwegians choose electric cars. I saw more Teslas in Trondheim this February than I have seen in the rest of Europe ever.

Although I don't have the data to hand, a fair amount of Norway's electricity is produced from HydroElectric power stations, so overall their CO2 emissions are going to lower per kWh of electricity produced.

Not sure I could work at the mini plant 423 x 68 second processes per shift

I may be exciting for James to have a play but doing the same process like that day in day out would seriously drive me nuts.

At that level of production you certainly can see why the robots are so integral.
