I hate to say it Peter.....but it looks pretty close to the standard Saddle Tan! hide

The build sheet says "Loom DA 209"....but I do agree, the difference is small!

Photograph colours are always a bit difficult to match, perhaps you could have a look at both in the "flesh" as it were...

If keeping the cream piping clean is difficult, why would you have cream leather, wouldn't that be even harder to keep clean?

Personally I feel the traditional colours like tan and mulberry (especially mulberry, I love Neilda's car) look best in traditional cars.

Cream leather to my eyes is all a bit "Considerably richer than yow", not to mention being wildly impractical unless a car is never driven top-down in inclement weather.

The problem is where the seatbelt rubs over the seat pipeing every time you pull the belt out to put it on, and when you move. I'll try and post a photo.

But yes, you have a point. And I agree that in certain cars, particularly large, expensive cars made in Italy and the Goodwood area, cream leather really says not just "Considerably richer than yow", but much more. It seems to be associated with things like diamond encrusted keys, an option from both Bentley and Ferrari...

Aldermog had black seats and in the summer the co-pilot complained that in the sun they were too hot for comfort. Tarka's seats don't get as hot in the sun. So lighter leather helps, but white leather I saw in a black Bentley looked, well, just wrong.
So a tan or grey is probably a reasonable compramise, whith either no or contrasting dark piping.

The Supersport is dark grey metallic (matterhorn???) with mulberry leather and grey quilted alcantara. I didn't spec it - but possibly would have done.

I have had 2 cars with a bi-colour interior - the Alpina was black and red leather - and it always makes it feel a more luxurious/expensive place.

My current Alpina has black nappa leather, and however nice the car is and however special the dark blue dials feel - nothing quite beats a high quality bespoke interior - ideally with an alcantara or leather roof.

(Now the Rapide I borrowed had diamond-esque patterned leather roof lining)

EDIT:
Woven leather looks good - as do the racing seats with mulberry smile

EDIT:
Only picture to hand on my interior: Mulberry/grey

The BMW was black with black/red leather and it looked a good place to be, even if the seats were uncomfortable!

I just love red leather interiors. I remember red leather being popular with cars from the 50's and 60's, Rovers up market Fords etc. Neilda's car looks stunning.

Remember someone posting a pic of an Aero interior with "distressed" leather - looked fab.

When one thinks of the very plastic interiors of cars costing similar amounts to an Aero it just shows what fantastic interior choices there are with a Mog , not even AM do wood !

I think a couple of cars have had the distressed leather. I did see one of the cars with black distressed leather and thought it looked great.

The colour rubs off the piping and the seat bolster no matter what colour it is (except for natural leather of course). The colour is effectively painted on. Muirhead supplied me with a bottle of Aztec Yellow paint to touch up the wear and tear.
