I am considering a bonnet strap and would definitely fix it to the lower body using "footman" springs,a kind of accordion shaped spring. Scratches? goes with the territory....

I have a polished aluminum body and if you look under the bonnet strap there are thousands of small scratches. Hmmm.... Some say "no problems" others claim otherwise......? Some have better vision than others?

I think the strap reacts differently to polished ali than paint.
All the people I spoke to claim that the strap doesn't cause a problem, maybe that's b/c it covers it? You can always put protective film on the corresponding part of the hood.
I went with the strap as it looks so period correct and makes it look more like a car than a trike/bike, ditto with the 3 eared spinners.
