Hello all y'all, Just to let you know, I have a M3W on order for, what I have been told, a March delivery. I ordered from my closest dealer which is in Charlotte, North Carolina on the east coast. About a 12 hour drive from me. I also talked to the dealer in Arizona. Both great people. I also called the dealer in Jacksonville, Florida and left a message and never even received a return call from them. I haven't finalized all the details for my car but it will be pearl yellow with black accents. Diamond stitching with yellow thread. I'll call it my little "bumble bee". I'm from Louisiana, which is in south central US. I have been reading a lot of TM and have really learned very much. I have never driven or even seen a real M3W but just had to have one. Can't wait. From what all I've read, I sure hope the factory has all the little quirks worked out before mine arrives. Is there a factory person to communicate with that will keep me up to date on my car, or is my dealer the best person for that?
Hi Dolph, welcome the clan. You will love your car and great that you are making it your own.
Don't expect much feedback from the factory. Mark Cerrone was my saviour so you could try him.
Best move is coming here and getting the collective eyes of TM to monitor your progress. Try to establish your spec early and get confirmation of your cut-off dates. I was unfairly charged £1000 for spec changes 10 days after I ordered and never given a cut-off date.
Having said that, all the dramas will be inconsequential the minute you see the car They are wonderful.
I'm still on the fence, and either have the utmost respect...or think you're looney tunes for buying one both sight unseen and never having driven one, I'm not sure which, you know...Louisana and all......
FWIW, there isn't an adequate description for the actual driving experience, you didn't share what's in your garage now or what's your frame of reference or expectations are, but let me tell you, having driven one, it truly is the "Ultimate driving machine". You will not be disappointed....
Ive only seen a m3w in bangkok, thailand in april 2013 before ordering my m3w.3 monthes later In July i did the order & got it in November, being the first m3w in the middle east. No dealership in sight. Have a strong heart, life is too short to think twice. I Just ordered a new trike a different theme than a m3w.
I saw the Youtube video with Jay Leno driving the 2011 prototype and just lost it. Found my dealer and put money down on a build slot in the future for a car that may, or may not, be built. Paid in full at time of pickup and that was when I drove it the first time.
No regrets. It has been a turbulent love affair that is still going strong.
Welcome to this rather interesting slice of insanity!
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
Welcome to the American Eagle Squadron, Dolph ! Very hard to test drive a M3W in the Colonies, I just had an opportunity to sit in one prior to ordering. Once I fired her up, I was done !
