I fitted them, and as others have noted it's a DIY job and worth it.

In my opinion, bangs per buck, it's the single best value mod to make to the handling of a Mog.

Got a set all ready and waiting with s/steel nuts and bolts in the mog foot well . Its my first job in spring of next year . Took the sharp edges off them with a grinder and painted them black . Looking forward to trying them out.

Thanks again for the response everyone, sounds like it's a must, expecting them to arrive on 25th under the tree, all I need then is a reasonable day and a sharp drill!!

Just bought myself a little gizmo to help with the fitting of the bars, I have always found it difficult to get my mains drill in and my battery drills do not have massive power and also drilling from above down the battery pack fouls on the car.....so I bought a 90 degree drive for my Dremell ;-). Now I have it set up with a very small (2.5mm)drill bit that I can drill a pilot hole down from above with the bar held in position with needle nose mole grips, then get big bertha my mains 'you could drill for oil with that' drill from underneath. Fitting about 8 sets a year for you lot means I had to find an easier way.....at least that's the excuse for buying more toys ;-).

I fitted the bars to my 4/4 myself...a very straightforward job. When I bought the Roadster I asked Williams to fit the bars all pong with a panhard rod. Don't know if it was the galvanising or what, but Lawrie burnt out a couple of drill bits trying to drill!

I've just fitted reaction bars and also a panhard rod to my 2014 Plus 4. Due Cornish weather, only taken a short test drive so far but does not feel much different. Hoping to take a much longer (more energetic) drive today. One small problem I encountered fitting the reaction bars was difficulty screwing the top oiler bolts back into the suspension uprights. Had to loosen the small bolts at the bottom of the upright and then tap the spring in various directions to re-centralise the kingpin before the oiler bolts would line up and screw back in.

2014 could well have dome top kingpins and they do 'float' a little when the top bolt comes out as the camber plates put some load on them, not always fun to re-align. Your spot on with how you achieved this, I have a tapered pilot tool for assembly and even with that its a delicate job to get the top bolts back in.

So you should have them on by the afternoon, out for a run and back in time for Christmas dinner! smile
