I had one last week from somebody alleging to be from British Gas. He rang to tell me that they had our meter readings through for last month and thought there was a mistake on it as it was very high and he was concerned I would get a really silly bill. I had to provide him with the account number - I said you will know that so why do you need it? To confirm security. Sorry mate, you're not having it! So I then asked him to confirm the supply address. He kept giving our home/office address so I knew then it was a scam because BG don't supply our electricity but do for some of pur properties and all the bills are sent to our office address. I kept asking him for the supply address as we have a number of them and also different suppliers. He gave up on me then and rang off.
