I'm soon going to order a Roadster and have been researching various options. I'm really impressed with the Simmonds Easy Fit hood and the way it works with their tonneau cover.
My dealer tells me that the Morgan factory hood is practically the same but I can't find any info that shows if the factory hood has the same quality of finish and functionality.
I would welcome any comments or opinions.

hood on '09 roadster is easy you don't need after-sales-stuff anymore (luckily)

Mike, it should be evident from the Dealer cars with Mohair hoods what the quality and fit is like. The latest spec of hood with folding frame, and the two lock down pins along the rear edge is excellent. The Simmonds easy fit hood was designed to improve the original design factory hood which is best identified by the row of fasteners along the top edge of the windscreen frame. These hoods also have a row of fasteners along the top edge of each rear wing, whereas the later hoods only have one lift-the-dot, and look 'much tidier'. On a personal note I also prefer the shape of the single rear window on the latest factory hood.

I would concur with the previous posts. The Simmonds hood is beautifully made and worthwhile conversion for a traditional hood but is not needed with the new "30 second hood"

having been caught in a monsoon on Monday, happy to confirm that new hood can be raised and secured within seconds entirely from within car, and is fine for speeds of 50 or so until you can reach somewhere safe to finish the job...

Actually, going by the ratio of water to air, it felt like we were in a Jacuzzi!

Thanks for all of your comments.
However if there is anyone who has had the Easy Up Morgan hood converted to the Simmonds Easy Fit I'd be very interested in your comments. Was it a worthwhile spend and why?

the traditional hoods look better up or down in my opinion and are avaiable on new cars if specified before build commences. they have the advantage that in the time it takes to erect the rain has usually stopped

Actually, going by the ratio of water to air, it felt like we were in a Jacuzzi! as some complain that the feet-area get hot, was the water quickly heated up to a comfortable temperature??? (and: who f°rthed to make the bubbles????)
