I wonder if the financial "brains" behind this policy change was also involved in the MMC not carrying adequate spares for their current range of cars ?
Reported as departed in the last few weeks.  Please excuse my ignorance but has some one significant to the current chaotic situation at MMC left the company? David

Thanks for the info Martin.I wonder if he will be the only one to go judging by the level of incompetence at MMC.
I waited three months for my local agent to receive a part for me nothing complicated as fitted to all current trads.
. It really isn't good enough

I think accusations of incompetence are possibly a little unfair, I'm sure all the people at MMC are doing their best in the circumstances.
I get the impression that it's the systems and processes that could maybe benefit from review, I wonder if the same attention is paid to the efficient flow of information through the organisation as is paid to the flow of materiel?
We see an awful lot of business intelligence failures generated by some pretty trivial issues like poor email handling, and in many organisations employees are given no support or training in effective information exploitation. To this outsider, MMC looks sometimes likes it's operating at CMM level 0 (i.e. depending on individual heroics) in this regard.
Getting the right information to the right people, at the right time, in the right format is one of those disciplines that is a great deal harder to achieve than it appears.

I haven't had to deal direct with the factory but when I need a new heated windscreen it took many weeks ( might have been over a month) to arrive at the dealers. I thought this would have been off the shelf as its a new trad mog?
I guess they order enough parts for production and anything else is special order?
