Was June 1972 on my 18th birth day, Sheffield city hall ,
I think it was ziggy stardust tour
Think the Jean Genie I saw performed the following year again June at the Sheffield city hall.

I was at "The David Bowie Tour" July 2nd 1973, it was the following day that he announced the end of Ziggy Stardust. I've still got the programme and ticket (£1 in the circle at Hammersmith Odeon).
He was my idol at the time, I really wanted the Ziggy Stardust hairstyle, now I'd be happy with hair!
A real innovator who changed over the years but was always a shining star.
RIP Bowie.

Quit prophetic his new album he sings about death! Since he was diagnosed with liver cancer 18 months ago, I suspect it's been pretty much at the forefront of his mind, Tony Visconti said they all knew during the recording sessions. It must have been a very poignant time for them all.

Yes that was the Ziggy Stardust Tour. It went on forever and was much better in 1972 than the year after.
