Does anyone in Holland know if this is the car that Adrian van der Croft owned?
It has many similarities but some tiny differences so I am not sure.

Slightly confused by the sideways mounted SU, so it functions as a down-draft carb. I didn't think SUs could be mounted that way, and still work properly.....anyone know for sure? Anyway the carb isn't period, more 1950s.

Nothing in principle to prevent the carb being mounted sideways, biggest issue is the float chamber would need its mounting modifying to turn it 90 degrees and the jet fuel line from the lower of the float chamber extended so it can reach. They turn through a few degrees anyway to allow for different installations but nothing like 90 degrees. The other issue would be the oil in the dashpot which with the dashpot plunger provides piston damping and an element of accelerator pump (the brass ferrule lift gives an initial enrichment on snap throttle openings).

If they are smart enough to mount the carb in this way they are clearly smart enough to solve those issues, pity the photos shield the float side of the SU. Stunning car isn't it.

SU might work at that angle, but bet it won't for long. Dashpot is meant to contain oil and that oil is supposed to be all around the piston.

Nice car, but doubt it's quite as significant as claimed. You'd quote the numbers if it was. So a bit overpriced and what fool put tyre black on the tyres? Looks silly IMHO.

After a little research (thank you Bill Hughes) I have found out that this is chassis number 96, it used to carry the UK reg no. JC 3684 and was owned by Clive Perry.

It was used as the "early car" in the 70th Anniversary Brochure.

It was offered by Harpers in the 1990s for £16,000, some appreciation!

Hamwich is right, pretty well all OHV three wheelers are faster, and most of the F types too.
