Lol when I lived in the city I was terrified of insects,
Now I carefully rescue Huntsman spiders ( about the size of your palm) that have strayed into the house in cardboard box that I have and set them free outside, same with scorpions. You learn, if not to like or trust them, to at least respect them. Still scared of them though smile

Then there is that strange stripey dog that comes by once in a while.

Is that not the saddest sight Peter frown they have some video of that one pacing its cage in the Hobart zoo back in the 30's, one of the sadest bits of video I have seen.

The poor thing died in 1936 due to beurocracy and sexism, it is said that the keeper was a woman and she tried get into the zoo that day to let it into its indoor space as there had been a cold snap, but was not allowed in because she was a lone woman, it died of exposure.
This occurred 2 months after the government finally declared them a protected species. Too little, too late, as usual, there has never been another confirmed sighting of one. Nothing changes ehh, today's governments are just as bad.

John, what part of the apple isle do you come from. Did you see today that all the Woolworths Australia day hats they purchased from China have been recalled as Tassie was left of the map embroided on the hat. doh

I am from the north, we have over 80 bushfires going currently, the air over most of the north and midlands is dense smoke with visibility down to 3 - 500m for the last two days, no sign of a let up either. The poor fire brigade guys and gals are stretched to breaking point I think, as the fires are spread out over the whole north of the island, there are more and more spots so hot that they now show up on the sentinel satellite systems.

Haha yes I did see that about the caps, saw it on the web yesterday and raced down my nearest woollies to buy one for a souvenir - alas the shelves were clear of anything with the map on, only flag stuff left smile it has even happened with the Stamps once.

Thankfully I have been getting good rain up my way on the NSW coast so the wild life is doing well. Look forward to hearing about the new MOG...

We have 5 acres of bush we live on here and due to the drought at the moment we provide a little bit of extra food and plenty of water for all the critters that live with us, so we get to go out and feed real wallabies etc right outside the front door every night.
We have Wallabies and Brown Bandicoots out there pretty much every night and some times Barred Bandicoots and Echidnas, plus all the birds large and small of course. Pure magic and you could never get tired of it or loose the thrill.

Picked up "Elrond" (named of course after the King of the Elves - light, nimble fast and powerful smile ) on Sunday and went for a drive round the coast for a bit, then onto the ferry Monday for the trip home arriving back at 21:00 last night.
What can I say SENSATIONAL, GLORIOUS, BRILLIANT FUN! You can enjoy all the thrills and atmosphere of pre-war motoring with that long fluted bonnet and sweeping fenders in front of you, cut down doors beside you, and a flat wood rimmed alloy spoked steering wheel, and with a modern engine, gearbox and drive line making it so easy to drive you can immerse yourself totally in the feel and sensations.
And what a great community Talkmorgan is, as I just said in another post where I got some great advice and help re some mystery controls and a faulty brake light switch.
I am in Lotus forum which is equally friendly and helpful, with everyone contributing for the greater good. It seems Lotus and Morgan people have very similar outlooks, a passion for the Make, their and other owners cars and the people that drive them, and a shared enjoyment, a real sense of community no matter how many miles we are separated by.
Cheers All
