Other headgear tends to be too expensive to lose.
I have a couple of Tilleys and a straw hat but I wouldn't want to lose my Tilleys, and a straw hat looks too hillbilly. If you lose a Tilley, they send you another one!

This is possibly the best compramise between flat cap and baseball cap.... M43 Cap I've ordered one..... Und now Ich bin preparen for the AGM ....

If you lose a Tilley, they send you another one! I think it now costs half retail price......... Probably due to fraudulent Lottery claimants doubling up on their stock of hats.

Please - no baseball caps..!!! Totally agree on that. For winter I have a leather flying helmet, for spring and autumn two very good flat caps, for summer I have a lightweight Borsellino driving cap (a sort of flatcap with perforated leather side panels, then, if I need protection from the sun I wear either a leather Australian hat or a Panama hat. I'm under doctor's orders to wear head sun protection at all times. Believe it or not they stay in place even at 130 kph (with side screens on) provided there is not a wind. Around town in the Morgan it is hard to beat a Panama for pose value

Baseball caps are okay for lizards, as they do not have ears that protrude in the sun. Maybe American lizards only. I note that the cape town Morgan club produce their own springbok or whatever skin flying helmet for winter. For summer, being in Oz, I prefer a pith helmet. I have the type that covers my ears from sunburn well, acts as a good sun visor, and shield the back of my neck from wind and sun too. Also, with sunglasses on, no-one recognises who the clown is driving in a pith helmet.Works in rain too.
The leader of the Opposition has been warned by isadora not to wear scarves, but has taken to wearing a shower cap under a bonnet as it does not squish her hair.
I landed a lovely pith for her from NZ, made in Vietnam, for $33 Aust dollars too.
