At the moment I'm pondering over whether to continue throwing money at it or sell it. It's not a car I particularly love unlike my old 4/4.
There's nothing quite your first love! Perhaps an 80th 4/4 might just hit the button?

Or even an Elise I won't hijack this thread about REAR suspension with my problems. I'll start another post, probably one I've fitted the damper.

Looks to me like you've answered your own question. Why spend money on a car you don't really love?

Jays 4/4 was a gorgeous looking car. All 4/4s are gorgeous looking cars. Even the poverty spec models

I drove an Exige round Silverstone about 4 years ago. Awesome car! Basically a road version and not stripped down to race configuration. Handled like a go-cart. Only issue was getting out! Sitting in it was great, fitted like a glove.... The big sill, however caused exit issues...... I couldn't get my leg over( oooo errr matron). I ended up leaning out, hands on floor, crawled out. Stood up, shook myself like a dog...walked away with helmet still on to hide my blushes! The fixed roof made it tougher to exit than an open topped Elise, but....what a car.
