ARP4 luggage rack.
Factory visit today to see my car in build ,sad to say it's not been started yet but I did get to drive a production car with luggage rack fitted.

What was it like to drive? First impressions?
Have to say I think it's a bit naughty of the factory giving test drives in a customer's car - if that had been my car I'd be seriously upset!
I have gone for the luggage rack on mine but have to say it looks a bit of a mess - the prototype I saw looked neater. I am having mine powder coated gloss black

I was told it was in London with the new Top Gear team on test .

Love the car in black but personally I am not sure about the luggage rack. It looks really high in the photos.

What does the turned knob on the right hand side of the centre crossbar do? is that part of the fixing?

Opening the knurled knob allows the side arm of the rack to swing down so that the sidescreen bag can be carried under the rack. This is usually necessary since the high level brake light prevents the sidescreens being slotted in from the top.

The blackness of it was so extreme that it was almost impossible to tell how close you were standing to it.

personally, I prefer the look of a trad morgan with a luggage rack. in some cases, or at some viewing angles, the rack can look like a trellis, or a climbing frame as someone on here once described my luggage rack (97 plus 8). but these pictures show also a rear bumper which is not far off the thickness of the rack itself and therefore adds to the 'trellis' look, in my opinion. in the third pic, front view, no rack visible at all.
