Appreciate your posting about impending purchase and good luck finding the right car.
I agree with Andrew that the five nut wheels are perhaps better, though I have central locking nut on mine and prefer the lock of these. They are though more time consuming to fit since they have to be torqued up properly, then undone slightly before retorting again, and ideally doing the same again. All with the car up in the car and the wheels blocked, which considering they need to be torqued to around 45kg/m is quite a faff!
I have the pram hood on mine and though it is lees attractive down it does have the advantage of being easier to erect.
Totally agree about buying on condition and history/bills etc
I hope you find the right car and if there's any aspect I can help you on don't hesitate to send me a pm. I wouldn't say I know all there is to know about these cars, but having had mine for 8 years and 40,000km and done my own maintenance and repairs I have got to know it quite well.

Hi Nick.The series 1 is fast becoming a collectors item so i would not not get bogged down trying to find those exact colours.Go for condition and service
average for that year would be between 30 and 50k miles you will find less and more.I personally would not change the base colour but a wing change to compliment the original whatever colour i think would be acceptable.The gtn would be 15 to 20k more but at normal fast driveing speed no difference to a standard car with sport exhausts thats the view from the factory,i was lucky enough to drive one when i bought my first S1.Good luck with your Quest its a fabulous motor no need for induction kits throttle bodies or suspension upgrades,go drive one.
Regards Emyr (Em) I beg to disagree Emyr, the GTN really does feel substantially different (and better to drive) to a regular S1. I would also say it feels better to drive than my S3 and S4. However, I have only driven the GTN for 1,500 miles in the last 5 months which for anyone that knows me, that is closer to my fortnightly mileage! I am anticipating that my S5 when it arrives will feel closer both in build quality and driving feel. Having said all that, I have never driven the S1 when new, only used ones so perhaps they felt a bit more like the GTN when new.

Funnily enough Richard Thorne mentioned wrapping, I am not sold on it but we will see..
The really good news is, I bought an Aero!
I bought a Blue S1 on a 51 plate (actually looks so nice I'm not sure I want it two-tone now) from Richard Thorne this afternoon, 29k miles, 2 previous owners and in great condition - hope to pick her up soon.
Thanks for everyone's help, it made a big difference.

Thanks all, I have to admit it is a great colour in the flesh.. I actually found it by chance, I was racking my brains at what Morgan dealers were about and I saw them on Wheeler Dealers, gave John a call and he said they just had this one in - so I saw it before it was advertised! It hasn't been cleaned/polished yet so they are going to sort a few little bits for me, and I am going to get them refurbish the wheels so they are perfect too. Thanks Phillip. Onto questions..  1. Should I stick with the standard silver for wheel reburb? 2. Do the wing mirrors fold in? (single garage) 3. I presume they do fit into a single garage? haha! John did seem to know his aero's well, he pointed out everything that makes them quirky, and they are not perfect - but it kinda adds to the charm. Very different to my last car which was concours!
