Trying to use the advanced search and it's failing, it seems it's only searching for the very first word I enter.

For the new three wheelers, I see various sites listing the rear tire as a 175/65-15 and some as a 175/55-16. It varies depending on what dealer decides to list what, and I'm not seeing anything definitive on the Morgan site proper.

I'm sure this is answered elsewhere on here, so I apologize for asking again, but I just couldn't find it via the search.

Just wondering if there was a change over the years or if dealers are listing incorrect info, or what the actual facts of it are.

Mines an early 2015 and its def 175/65R15. I went for a Mich energy saver. Most modern tyres are not symmetrical if you look at the tread pattern which when the wheel is in the middle is not ideal! The job is fairly easy if you take your time, once its all stripped you end up with a normal car wheel which you can take to a tyre cenre to fit and balance.

175/65R15 on my mid 2012 car too.

Cool thanks, and yeah that's exactly my intent to get a list of symmetrical tread tires for my own reference.

One more question, regarding using a different width tire. It's hard to gauge on pictures, but how much space is between the belt and that 175 tire? Or if anything else would interfere if you were to run a wider tire.

It's a bit hard to tell in photos like this. But it looks to be at least an inch gap. The width increase is about 3/4" so only 3/8" or so per side, that seems like it would hopefully be within the realm of doing.



I'm curious as a 195/50-15 is less than half a percent off as far as diameter goes, so you wouldn't see any issues with the speedometer reading wrong. But at least here state side there are a lot stickier compound tires in that size than there are the 175/55

Just thinking if one were to have a spare wheel with say a track day sticky tire on it, but then for your regular drives out there switch to a longer wearing tire.

In UK engineering terms, the gap between the belt and a standard tyre is a gnats cock (Very small) about an eighth of your hoped for distance. Correct alignment of the wheel is critical to maintain the gap. Because of this, fitting a wider tyre may not be possible, at least on a 2015 car. Hope this helps

Apologies for a mild thread hijack, but I had my original Bridgestone changed for a Yokohama Blue Earth when it was serviced last year and it is wearing far faster than the original Bridgestone. I know I like some tail-happy roundabouts these days, but about 50% wear in 1800 miles is a bit keen I think. Trouble is, I didn't note what the original Bridgestone model was - can anyone with one of the factory originals (at least those from mid 2013 that came with a Bridgestone fitted) help please? Thanks.
