Hi

Many years ago I used to have a comprehensive set of tools but as I got older and cars got more reliable I gave many away. Then I bought a Morgan and have been slowly restocking my tool kit. Not a complaint, just a surprise.

The one item I have come unstuck on is a grease gun. I have bought two so far and both have been less than useful (I would not be allowed to use the adjectives that are appropriate). Can anyone recommend a reliable grease gun. Preferably one that takes loose grease and not just a cartridge. I would also prefer single handed operation.

Many thanks in advance for any recommendations.

David

Regarding tools, I did exactly the same as you and gave mine away to a friend who was restoring and MG TD.

I tried a cheap grease gun but gave up and bought a Wanner, not cheap however it is reliable.
The old one I had had two bleed valves the new one I bought has only one valve.
I bought mine from Stephens Lubes.

A lot of nuvea riche aspirational clients that MMC wish to target (remember the effete male model - can't see him clambering underneath the axle with a grease gun)

Anyway, before they get to work on hi tech hybrids, maybe they should consign this ridiculous grease monkey business to history.

Always buy the best you can afford. Saying that, I bought a cheap one and it works ok. (Clarke CGG120 - about 20 quid)

I have 3, all came from car boots or auto jumbles . Bought an almost new wanner at kempton park jumble for £6. I also have a push type tecalamit one that was in the original jaguar tool kit. It's handy for oil. I use heavy steering box oil in the top greaser.
There's probably dozens on flea bay.
