Perhaps what Steve is trying to say is why should the average road user enjoying such roads, be faced with some moronic boy racer trying to emulate Evo or the likes of Top Gear. I don't quite know how the car mags get away with driving at the speeds they suggest.....they do have some responsibility towards driving standards.

I am not sure if this reply was in response to me or not, but for the record I don't disagree with any of that. My point was that a blanket ban and dumbing down to the lowest common denominator is not the correct way to remove the risk, education and improving to raise the driving standards bar is. This way we can all enjoy the roads as we will drive at what is appropriate not at what was dictated. I know this is a far harder and complicated/longer way of achieving our goal of lowering risk, but if we continue to ignore this, we will soon find a blanket 4 limit on every road in the name of safety, then no one will enjoy any road. It may be a harder path, but we need to cross this bridge and make a stand to show that speed is not the issue, misappropriate speed is and that education is the fix.
