Having driven the car all weekend, I thought I'd sit and read the manual last night as one does..

My first fill up on Friday went from 1/4 to 1/2 and a bit. The pump kept clicking off, and I'd nozzles at the 10 o'clock position. Thought it must be the Morgan 'thing'..

Filled up yesterday evening & did exactly the same process, but now the gauge is at full..

Checked my receipt & it seems I've put 43 litres in....and yet the manual shows a 40 litre capacity..

Sigh..

The manual works a bit like a mate in the pub.

"How big is the fuel tank?"

"Oh, I reckon it's about 40 litres"

Recently, I put 54.47 l of gasoline in the fuel tank, which is in the books for 55l. The gauge indicated 'empty' before and 'full' after the visit to the Shell station. Hence, I concluded that at least at the extremes my gauge is OK.
Cheers,
Bert

40 litres does not ring a bell - 55 does - I will check the manual on my car when next in the garage.

55 Litres seems more logical, it certainly wasn't empty when I pulled into the garage. I've just Googled it too, and 55l keeps coming up.

My fresh new manual is Version 3. Has there been one since..?

I think Dave's 'mate-in-the-pub' analogy is best..
