Well many thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome. The car is a 1988 3.5 injection in Royal Ivory. The only down side for me at the moment is the single sided exhaust, that has to go the V8 burble is an essential.Any suggestions on two sided systems would be welcome or should I post that question under servicing and tips ?. My previous car was also Royal Ivory,1973 Rover 4 speed car which I converted to 5 speed but I retained the 4 speed gearlever so it was not possible to tell it was 5 speed without close scrutiny.I did a rebuild in the mid 80s making the doors and back panels from a sheet of alluminium,as I said I kept that one for 28 yrs.until a divorce meant it had to go.I have some other cars and bikes,I will list them when I work out how to do it.Does anyone go to the Kimbolton Country Fair where The Sporting Bears organise a car show ?.

Welcome Tom, I have a '96 Plus 8 (3.9l) with single exhaust, There aren't a lot around. I've gotten used to people asking if it's really a Plus 8 'cos it hasn't got twin exhausts. I asked about converting to twin pipes about 5 years ago and it was gonna cost over 2 grand, I decided there were other things I could better spend that on.

Hi Tom, my 1999 3.9 had a Librands dual system fitted from new and gives you a nice sound level that everyone seems to enjoy without being tiresome on longer cross country runs. Lovely popping and banging at around 1,500rpm on over run. Manifolds are original cast ones. http://www.librands.co.uk/products-view-96.htmlMight be worth having a chat with them. You have a very fine collection of machinery there . A bit too far away for the Kimbolton show it sounds like fun, some other members live in your neck of the woods and maybe attend.
