I have an "original" Bootbag too. Was going to use it on the Saab having used it on the 4/4's rack, but the 9-3 boot was well large enough not to require extra storage. I would bring it to the next (Apr 10th) Prescott breakfast club Rob, but I'll be at Curborough instead...

Hi Amrum, I would be worried about putting any weight on the boot lid of an aero8, its only thin aluminium, I used to have two leather bags which fitted in the boot, a couple of soft bags which went above the boot bags in the "wedge" of the boot lid and two more bags for under the hood, more than enough for the two of us for three weeks abroad], Cheers, Ian

Thanks, Ian. Yes, that was my concern, which was why I wondered if anyone had tried it. My thought was to use the boot and behind the seats for heavy luggage, and a bootbag for light stuff - coats etc. I don't need much apart from a change of clothes, toothbrush and walking boots - seems to require about ten times as much.

Hi Rob, I'd still be worried about scuffs on the paint finish as the boot lid really picks up the light due to it's curves, you'll be surprised how much you can get in the boot, we got all my wifes shoes and some odds and ends in the hole in the boot liner (right hand side)all luggage in boot and under hood, coats etc on top of luggage in boot (easy access) and coming home I even found room for 6 bottles of wine!! (have a practice pack, you'll be surprised what fits in), most of all, enjoy, Cheers, Ian

I have just bought an old alustar suitcase of the 70s which seems to fit very well on the standard luggage rack of my 4/4. I eill post another foto when fitted/mounted.
