Hi Guys I posted on here last year regarding my M3W not being able to get into gear even though every thing felt OK Well she has gone to the garage and the engine out and clutch assembly dismantled On investigation found the "pivot ring " in the pressure plate broken and visible at one point and one of then retaining studs loose So when depressing the clutch pedal only part of the pressure was releasing thus clutch not releasing hence no gear selection Flywheel damage and pressure plate damage so all has to be replaced Clutch plate was very little worn

The M3W is a very early one 2012 and only 3200 miles The problem now is trying to get Morgan to accept this as a warranty claim They told me 3 years old out of warranty hard luck My point will be this a mechanical failure not ware and tate and potentially dangerous

The new/later clutch is different to the earlier one. Also, the flywheel is larger. There is a thread about the clutch some where on this forum.

Hi Kriss,
on those early 3W it had been necessary to fit a kind of end stop bracket for the clutch pedal. If that one isn`t fitted it could be possible to give too much pressure onto the pressure plate.
Morgan states: This will prevent the clutch pedal and clutch from being overthrown too far.
This is only for 3W`s with the early pedals with "3W" cutted out on the pedal.
If you send me a PM I could mail you details to that if you are interested. Maybe this is the cause of your clutch failure.
Kind regards

Now that is a bugger - good luck hopefully the scratching results in a runner for the Bank Holiday weekend.

At long last the clutch problem has been sorted The problem with the new clutch was that there are 2 different clutches for the M3W but have the same part No Now that's clever!!!!!Anyway the new clutch is fitted and all seems well at the moment!!Fingers crossed If you have the unfortunate reason to change the clutch check the new spares against the original before assembly to save the problems I've had
