Hey chaps thanks for the welcome and the interest! How great it is to share the excitement of a new toy with those of like mind as opposed to boring the pants off those who've yet to see the light.

I'm still a few weeks away from collection and yes it's like waiting for a new-born. Deary me. Mine's prosecco/cuba with power steering and quick release steering wheel. I'll have a pop at posting some photo's once I've mastered all this tricky reply, quick quote, slow quote stuff.

No I wasn't aware of any TM days at the factory but I did manage a trip up there for an enlightening wander round a few months ago. I've also visited quite a few dealerships in the course of my quest to work out which model would best suit my idiosyncrasies and have to say that without exception they were all staffed by super-friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and patient people who seemed as keen to impart their love of their cars as they were to make a sale. Impressive. You just don't get that with other marques.

The car looks stunning under the dealership lights but it'll need a tickle or two to get it just as I'd like. I've already posted that I'm trying to sort out heated seats but MMC are advising against it and I just don't understand why. The plain plastic indicator stalks let the side down as does the handbrake handle - these will be replaced with shiny chrome prior to collection. Such easy to rectify blemishes on a car of such high spec is hard to comprehend. I'm not a fan of the oatmeal carpet splattered all over the place and will sort out a re-trim asap so's to impart the sumptuous feel of other +4's. To my mind it needs leather on the sills and gearbox/handbrake tunnel and I'm even considering replacing the aluminium door panels. Gotta cosy it up a bit.

If it has the carbon race seats I can understand the reticence for heated seats as I can imagine it having a detrimental affect on the way the cushion part is attached. Plus they may only have the one size electric mat which would probably not fit as well as on a standard seat.

Otherwise, I don't know why they would recommend not to have them.

I like the way you're personalizing your car. This is your long-awaited dream coming true, and every detail is part of your dream. I've owned my Morgans for decades and I'm still changing things.

I would recommend against heated seats -- rarely useful and could cause problems at a bad time. I keep a couple of black blankets in my garage, which my passengers can use when they need lap blankets or bun insulation.

has to be one of these, but some have gone for the lightweight version as the original is warm but in a Morgan it can be too bulky!

When it comes to flying jackets, I would advise getting one made to measure by someone who knows how they get used in cars. As Steve says, the standard 1" pile of an Irwin makes the jacket very bulky, plus the standard arm cut means they can be a bit restrictive.

I got Cirrus to make me a B3 with ½" pile sheepskin, and It's just about perfect for me, but sadly I think they are no longer in business.

Don't make any changes for a year. You will be amazed on how your thinking will change with experience.

That is a great piece of advice.

I have the standard version. I can wear it from November to March on cold days or long fast runs - every other occasion it is too warm. A bit more thought before I spent a fair bit of money and I would have had a jacket that was useful on a lot more occasions.

I tend to agree with a few here that full shearling flying jacket can be a bit bulky and restrictive

I tend not to wear mine for that very reason

Instead I layer up as needed with tweed jackets, waistcoats and a wool lined parka or military type coats

One choice of First World War pilots which I do find useful is the silk scarf which is a great insulator against cold and wraps around the neck and tucks in neatly without the bulk of a wool scarf
