I am going to be in trouble as there is no power outlet in the underground garage .. and I won't be using my Morgan for about 2.5 weeks!

I do wonder why the battery would go flat quickly though, apart from the clock, what other current draw is there? Surely the immobiliser does not consume much power?

The clock and immobilizer with its flashing LED drains my battery and in Winter the colder air in the garage reduces the charge on the battery plus the colder engine needs more power to turn over

Of course in the Spring and Summer its not a problem as I'm using the car far more every few days so i don't have it on trickle charge from about now until October

Charger + conditioner such as a Ctek is much better as it "uses" the battery and keeps it "working" which lead-acid appreciate. Don't use them on gel batteries, though.

You'll find a CTEK cheaper than a Gel battery and with correct use, your battery will last a lot longer. Gel are good for mobility scooters but not sure about cars. Gel are suited to longer discharge while moving with a scooter.

A battery kill switch would be the best option Sean.

Great idea. I'll ask BHM to install one. Much as I hate having to reset the clock every time.

Does the ECU reset to baseline if it loses power though?
