@Draggin, you're welcome.

@Rockabilly John, that's exactly the issus. Apparently, no difference.

@Stantheman I asked for them to be wheighed and apparently (just phoned the shop) their wheight vs. Mk III is the same with a meaningless difference that could well be explained by the "mod" we did here to the cracked Mk IIIs.

Also, the mechanic from the workshop told me that the horizontal welding was in fact at the bottom of the silencer in the MK IIs (they still have them there) but now that my son took the M3W to the shop he checked and indeed the welding in the Mk IIIs was also in the inner side of both silencers.

The mechanic's verdict is that these exhausts are Mk III. He doesn't say it that way, of course, but he says these new exhausts are 100% identical to the previous ones.

HE even asked me if I'd prefer to keep the ones he "made" with the remains of the cracked Mk IIIs, or if I wanted to perform the same "surgery" in these. Of course I replied "no". To alter the parts MMC sent me would void their warranty, and to simply not use them would not be smart.

So, there you have it. Onwards and upwards, fearing not the crack(s) of Doom!

Almost, but not quite speechless. I was secretly hoping for some internal, unseen mod to prove us wrong and sort the issue. Looks like you/we're heading round in circles.

Surely someone at the factory can suddenly hear the penny drop and realise that the extra flexi joint will see the current and future problems suddenly disappear. Surely the bean counters at Morgan would be happier. Wouldn't they?

I suppose. But in this case they won't have to wait much longer to know MMC just spilled a few more beans. I'll just leave this simple drawing I just did here, because my complaint to the dealer, supported with proper pictures and measurements, is still being written. It concerns the left exhaust. It won't fit the car. Someone, somewhere, has no clue on what QC is and paints british engineering and especially craftsmanship in a very bad light.

2 problems: 1st doesn't allow fitting the part to the car. 2nd is merely aesthetical, almost makes you laugh.

Mario,

I really feel for you, chum. You've been so patient over the last few years and have played a straight bat with the factory, and yet something like this on a Mk IV is just so ludicrous it's almost like a joke.

It's such a simple solution with the addition of a 'flexi' joint, too.

It's simply unbelievable.

I think an email to the new Chairman explaining the whole story of your ownership would help him understand how MMC functions .....

This issue is something for the M3W focus group?

I was only thinking earlier how I don't know how you've maintained your patience, Steve hit the nail on the head.

Equally HJP and DaveW's points need considering.

Unacceptable, although accurate, is too polite a word for this shameful saga.

I typed in a few other words but that was the least profane
