Andrew - checked remote key website, the Range Rover P38 fob is no longer available but looking through it would seem the MGF one looks similar, may go down that route if not able to turn immobiliser off. Thanks again.

Has anyone else had there's turned off? Kevin seemed to think it was quite common.

Back in 2011 I was having starting problems with my Rover T16-engined +4. It turned out to be a dodgy starter motor in the end, but in the process of trying to get the problem sorted I had the immobiliser bypassed. The only place I could find at the time who could do it was an outfit called Automotive Electronics based in Harrishead near Stoke on Trent (Tel 01782 518086). The chap that ran it claimed to be the original designer of the Rover immobilser system, and he charged me about £100 for the privilege, which I thought a bit steep at the time but it did take the possibility of a faulty immobiliser out of the equation.
It's been bypassed ever since, although he did offer to re-connect it should the need arise - no-doubt for another hefty wadge of dosh though.
For obvious reasons, there doesn't seem to be a DiY way of bypassing it shown anywhere, so I'm guessing that having it done professionally is the only option. I'm not sure if this Automotive Electronics outfit is still going, but if not then hopefully there are other Rover specialists out there who could help, as I'm sure, from personal experience, that any Morgan dealers won't have a clue.
If you have any success, then please let us know.

Just checked on Gomog site. In the Plys8 specific section there is a thread for Ignition key.
Have a look there.
It gives some tech info re the unit and some suggestions for repair/replacement. Try Rimmer Bros/RPI as suggested.....if a LR dealer cannot do it. There is also a link to a repairer who quotes £43 or refund if failure to fix.

Just read a bit more in there. Look in the Gems EFI thread.

Update on this thread - Bought a recon 433.9 Mhz fob on ebay, met up with Mark Adams of Tornado Chip fame today at Kevin Vernons garage. We couldn't programme the fob to the car, assume Morgan may have put in a USA Lucas AS10 which is 315.0 Mhz so looked for a bypass solution which was done via wiring not computer programme as first thought. Not removed immobiliser unit so still have flashing red light which can be turned off using fob but not necassary and car starts with key without using the fob - job done!

That is what I did on my T16 +4 when I had to replace the ECU. I think it was wire/ pin 13 on the connector from memory
