Given the prices achieved recently by historic Morgans with racing history, and the fact that this is one of the rarest (with recent invitations to Goodwood and Laguna Seca, among others) then the figure quoted, while high, does not seem particularly outrageous. I would agree with you, if this cars allows you to get entry in classic racing events, somebody will want it and will be willing to pay the price for it.

And is it correct that his car has a Jag engine (plus the power steering?) They clearly have put a photo of the wrong engine on the site. That is defnietly a six Jag in the photo. However I see they also have a black XK150 for sale - no doubt got pics mixed up.

I'll check the engine later, going over to collect the Aero from it's 20k service. The Jag is nice too!

I have a recollection that the very first SLR was actually built on a TR ( The so- called 'Dangerfield' car) and then the remaining three were on the Plus 4 Superpsorts chassis.
Can anybody enlighten me?

No real sense in the price. Whilst historic it was in no way anything novel or earth shattering at the time. I know - that was my youth.

As Robert says - buy this months Octane for full info.
As for the price - I still think you could get something more interesting with the same ability to enter competitions for a lot less money. But I guess there is some afficionado out there willing to pay serious money. Having said that the market will decide, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay...
