Very much agree with thoughts on price.  Not sure what they sell for presently but I think an F40 would be a much better way of spending that amount of money.  Or a 911 RS, Carrera GT, McLaren SLR etc etc... If I was buying something from that era I would be more tempted by an XK150, Healey or E Type. Regards, Robert

I very much agree with your last sentence and while I don't want to stir things up here becuase veiws on issues like this are essentially personal, perhaps the following actual example might be of interest.
Tomorrow, a mate and I aee going to have a look at a Porsche 356 coupe which he is thinking of acquiring It is, in those well- loved words, 'a minter' ( I've seen it already,) and is available for an amount which is very considerably less than SLR4 and has been looked after rather than restored
I accept that there can be no 'like for like' comparison here not least because of the rarity value of the SLR and the significance of the SLR in Morgan history. As a couple of people have said, the market will decide but I really do wonder whether the very large price differential is justified all the same.

Yes, if its all kosher it should be excel1ent. This is a 1963 356C,T-6. it has the SC engine, 4-wheel disc brakes, and 12-volt electric system. if it matches up on the details, it should be the dogs'

I love the 356 in pretty much all its forms; although the Speedster and the Carrera are the pinnacle for me.

I have a recollection that the very first SLR was actually built on a TR ( The so- called 'Dangerfield' car) and then the remaining three were on the Plus 4 Superpsorts chassis.
Can anybody enlighten me? I have vague memories of a lot of Lawrencetune TRs at the time including some with streamlined bodywork. But its a long time ago and my memory disappeared along with my hair and waistline.
