Hello,

my dad owns a red morgan plus 8 and he has been in a little accident with the car. The car is in a body shop now and we are asked for the paint/colour code for the vehicle. Does anyone know where and how to find the code? We checked all the papers he has and there is nothing in there and we didnt find anything on the car also frown

Any help is highly appreciated!
Sabine

Where are you located? Many modern bodyshops uses a scanner to 'read' the paint for better colour match these days?

Call MMC with your registration number and all data you can gather (chassis number etc.)
They should be able to provide you with the correct code.

Regards,
Vladimir

Ouch!

Yes, MMC will have the paint code used for the build, but paint typically goes thru some changes as it ages. It is far better to find a reputable restoration shop that will use a color analyzer right on the car itself to read the color and then provide the formula for a spot on match.

If you just use the MMC paint code, there's a far greater chance that even with color blending onto adjacent panels, it will still be off.

I agree. As its a Plus8 (I assume not the latest) red paint in particular will have faded over the years.

Suggest he calls Morgan Park in Hamburg... one of the best Morgan dealers. And if your dad doesn't speak fluent German they speak good English!

Some of the most sophisticated body shops I visited were in Germany (especially around the Frankfurt area) they will have a scanner for sure.
