I mounted mine on the lower rail of the luggage rack, where it can be seen regardless of whether luggage is being carried and so can be left in situ permanently:

Hi Steve, I'm assuming you mean how do you attach the lighting strip to the luggage rack?

I made the aluminium brackets myself, a fairly straightforward couple of hours with no special tools required. Here's what I did, all dimensions are non-critical and approximate..

1. Cut a couple of bits of 25mm x 12mm aluminium bar about 50mm long each
2. Drill 2 holes to suit the lugs on the light strip and the bars on the luggage rack, on my car it just so happened they were the same size, either 12 or 14mm (can't remember)
3. Cut vertically down with a hacksaw to turn one of the holes into a U shape to go around the luggage rack
4. Drill the ends of the U and tap 4mm
5. Cut a small piece of 12mm x 3mm 25mm long and drill two 4mm holes to make the end caps
6. Drill and tap 4mm a hole into the rear of the other hole. This is for a grub screw to lock the lighting strip at the right angle.
7. Clean up and shape the brackets with a file and emery cloth.

Assemble on the car, wire the additional light into the feed tot he brake lights, and Bob's your uncle!
