He was all Bentley'd up today, and was with what I presume was his son, so apart from smiling and a quip about him paying for the grub, he was his usual sulky self.

Sat outside in the spring sunshine watching the circuits and bumps, and a lone stunt plane having a play before landing for his butty.

Home now with a glowing face, and only had the roof up in the storms three times..!!

Top day.

You've not lived until you have had a Full English at Wellesbourne as most of the West Midlands Constabulary can confirm!

Great place Wellesbourne!

Only started driving again today and not yet tried the MOG out on the road until my ankle muscles strengthen. Did get it out of the garage for a much needed wash though. Only to find drops of water on the transmission tunnel.......I thought I'd cured that leak mad2

Mog MOT'd today. Flying colours. A pal's Pilgrim was in being refurbished and Alan (garage owner) has an MGB Sportster V8 almost down to bare metal being done.

I have asked him if he would service the Mog, and yes, he would. Much cheaper than Mog dealers but I trust him to do it properly. Any thoughts regarding affect on re-sale? She's probably a keeper, anyway.

Blast out to Humber Bridge to watch participants in The Flying Scotsman pass through...the best time was when queues began at the toll booths at lunch time and there was a bevvy of Bentleys and similar banging popping and roaring...fantastic among all the modern stuff and trucks.

The smell of hot oil and petrol was wonderful !!!!!
I plan to spill petrol on my thermal driving suit to get the same effect !!!

Great few hours

Why?
Because I'm going to be a volunteer guide/worker/whatever ....initially a couple of days a month, but once I've retired, every week.

A nicer bunch of aircraft/petrolhead nutters as one could possibly meet.
The jewel in their crown is a Short Sandringham flying boat which is open to visits.

Another rather nice perk is free admission to the Goodwood Revival Meeting looking after the aircraft display. Lord March is a patron...

We must arrange a TM trip when I'm trained up and can act as the tour guide...

What a great thing to do Peter. A couple of years ago I was in stone-throwing distance of that museum (after Goodwood Revival) but because we were traveling with another couple I had to conform to group dynamics and give it a miss. But I was very aware that I was on or near a sacred aviation site. I will get there in the next year or so. This year is just a bit crammed with other important matters. Great that so many morgan owners also get aviation.
