I started a post while back," almost time".
I shall be retiring in September.
I agree with your points, in particular the gist of "its my car". I will be in a similar situation when i buy my 3 wheeler in September.
I intend to run it in the UK for 6 months and then have it shipped to Malaysia.
I will be driving to Grindelwald next year.
My in-laws say why would you buy this car when you can have a new 3 litre SUV for less money.
They also go on to say no air con,(drive faster) no roof what you do when it rains? You drive prepared with wet weather clothing.
No doors, no problem, KH are going to make step for the wife and move the exhaust to my side of the car.
Servicing i can get sorted easily, gearbox clutch Mazda, engine Harley or any larger bike dealer.
The little things that may or may not fall off i can deal with.
Major things that insurance may have to deal with, ship it to China.
In years to come, with the popularity of the 3 wheeler there may even be a service centre in Malaysia.
At the end of the day its my money and my choice.
This is not a Rant, just me expressing my feelings for a car or mode of transport if have wanted for over three years.
