Yep, a cracking event. Wandering around the visitor car parks is nearly as interesting as the cars on display in the central area. I arrived deliberately early to get a chance to do some photography without the later arriving hordes.
Great to see Rob and Ian, and nice to bump into Dallas Jones, but despite keeping an eagle eye open I didn't spot a single TM lanyard.
Managed to grab a framed Le Mans poster, too - not an original, I hasten to add, but an official Le Mans copy. Had to have it as it was from June 1959, when I was born.
Out of hundreds of absolutely gorgeous cars, I loved the Rileys, but by far the coolest of all without a doubts were the cars like the D Type - used hard and often, beautifully patinated and proudly carrying the road dirt demonstrating they are used they way they were meant to be. Total respect.

Yes they are split rims, They are Compmotives circa mid 1980's I have had the car since 1980 and sprinted for a couple of seasons, one day at Goodwood going around Woodcote the nearside rear steel wheel decided to go straight on leaving four neat "washers" under the wheel nuts hence the new wheels.
Nice pics Tim, sorry I missed all you chaps, yeah forgot to mention queuing for looks was an issue, and it is a massive event. They'll have to be careful it doesn't get overwhelmed and become a family day out as sbm says.
