But how does one control it on a hill start?
you have to be very quick with the pedals

Sorry to disagree but this is a big issue ...Faulty brakes on a new car !! no other manufacturer would get away with it.
I sell cars for a living and I would be in serious trouble if I sold a car at a £1000 with such a poor hand brake.
Never mind £60.000.
The fact that I can drive around the problem is not relevant.

No it's not right, and Morgan or one of us [Simon from Mulfab?] will have to redesign the thing, in the meantime, go and put some miles on the car, I promise it gets better. You mean Simon from SiFab surely? I've escaped from the cowshed  Simon @ SiFab.co.uk

Hello P
when leather around handbrake is removed , i can do 2 cliks more and i can not get eny movement on the wheels anymore. in total 8 clicks from the h brake handel. Going to lift the car and check if i can arrange (shorten ) the cable(s).

[i]... in the meantime, go and put some miles on the car, I promise it gets better.  - it won´t i´m sorry to say.  I had a longer mail-chat with Peter Mulberry about that and he didn´t use the well-known (in the Morgan-galaxy) words "never heard of", but sth. meaning quite the same to me. The rear brake calipers are the same than in Ford Sapphire / Cosworths & i do wonder how they managed to make them work properly (or at all that is compared to the Morgan set-up)...

Hello peter,
i just checked and myn is also not so good , but i will make it ok. I will start with removing the leather around the handbrake. I noticed from in octber on the demo AR that it was in actually to small and strech maximum , even before handbrake is doing his job. When i pull more than that , handbrake IS working .
going to remove now . Let you now , we will fix
stefan Hi Stefan When I used the factory car at Bromyard there was too much play in the had brake lever and it didn't hold on the first hill we came too. I reported it when i got back ,the reply was .. "Yes they are like that."

Yeah, I understand. Was just trying to lighten up a bit. Believe me I know what it means to have a brand new Morgan and have it fail (catastrophically) one day and 500 kms after delivery.
Almost two years later, I'm still at it, actually.
