An update on the power failure on my S4.
Returning from Le Castellet we had electrical failure involving headlights, brake lights, indicators & wipers - plus some panel lights- although all the powertrain electrics were fine.
Preliminary work has found serious water ingress behind the dash which has ruined the 'black box' which is now being replaced.
This is possibly a design/build issue affecting this series (& aeromax) as a similar problem affected an aeromax on the same trip.

Definitely keep us informed on this one. I know your S4 was an early one but I do wonder what, if anything, was changed from the S3 to the S4 (location of key electronics, etc?).

Water ingress and Morgans do not a happy relationship make (I had enough water issues with my S3 to experience that first hand), so it would be good to hear the findings on this one.

An update from BHM.
The command module behind the dash is the culprit - it does not work. The cause is water ingress & it seems that there is a split in the washer pipe which is being replaced as well. There does not appear to be any other water leak.
So leaking/split windscreen washer pipes are probably the fault & will need to be replaced!

I think that Kin's Series III had the same problem.

This brought back some fond memories of my Aero owning days(mostly brilliant! )

I did 10000miles in its first year, and must say that 99% of the time was dry conditions only, hence the use of my windscreen washers was extremely rare.

To cut a long story short..apparently everytime I uses my washer, not only did it squirted water onto my windscreen, it was also squirting water under the dash as well, later Perrennal(spelling?) garage found the washer piping was badly fitted and used inferior fittings(if my memory served me correctly)

The most unforgiving fault/build was both doors has no drain holes, so when it was parked outside SGT for sale, water were trapped inside both doors upto 6inches high, drowning all electronics and short circuiting most things

This left me slightly resentful towards MMC for such oversight! (Julian at SGT told me that another Aero had suffered the same fate) I believe alot of these issues should not have happened, if the factory paid a bit more attention to details.
Sorry if I offended some senior members on here but I think MMC should stand up and be counted...

Having said all that, I would not hesitate to buy another Aero when the time comes.

The last S4 and AeroMax have got an upgrade with a thick tube instead of the very thin tube of the S3 and first S4. The earlier thin tube is like an old bicycle valve. If the washer jet is congest the tube burst an water comes in the electronic. It is wise to change the tubes.

Confirmation from BHM that the washer hoses were the old type and had split - every time the washers were used it would spray water onto the 'black box'.
Guaranteed to cause electrical problems(if not uncomfortable )
It would be nice to know from MMC as to which chassis numbers were affected.
