Yes it's the top of wd816, the interior will need replacing so I will look at removing the whole piece through the panel behind the seats.
So far all the other wood I've found looks good.
The old petrol in the tank looked like creosote when I drained it.

The wood joins will probably be glued as well as screwed together.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

The old petrol in the tank looked like creosote when I drained it. I'm glad that was the extent of the rot and your journey over the car of discovery is kind to you. Keep the creosote for coating the new wood

Looking at that again it's WD823 £59.50 Theres a couple of bits marked as 816.
I've been quoted £360 inc vat (part only not fitted) that sounds a bit steep to me.
Is it only the Morgan factory that supplies these?

Also, measure the parts, remember that all these were made by hand, none are identical and will probably require some "fettling" to fit  The joy of hand assembled cars - real character

Melvyn Rutter supplied mine.
They were stamped with the Morgan logo and printed with "Genuine Morgan part" so I presume he buys them in from the factory.
When the old part was removed there was very little left of the screw threads which had rusted away.
This was on a 1976 4/4.
When dismantling a severely rotted body tub its amazing how it stays together.
Addicted to Morgans. 44 years and still not cured.

Rusted away wood screws were what I found on all of the 4 body tubs I have rebuilt. (I won't use the words "restore" as My methods are somewhat non-conventional). However; they all seem sound and are doing their job.
