I thought it was a charming characteristic of Morgan classic ownership when I first bought he car. I quite enjoyed getting stuck in to a bit of easy-mechanics - at first. Done it a couple of times now and am probably starting to agree with the legends that are Madmax and SBM. Think I'll probably find a local garage to have it done when I'm abroad (or somewhere equally remote like Scotland).
I was chatting to an ex-Morgan owner the other day (Roadster) who never greased them in three years and lots of miles. Didn't notice any deterioration (do Roadsters have king pins to grease?)

Well what a stupid, stupid system..
Have spent a good half hour trying to (a) find the damn things under the layer of sh*t down there, and (b) trying to get grease either into the gun or into the nipple..
Loading grease guns hasn't changed over the years & it's still messy, just like laying on the ground and trying to get underneath.
The flexible nozzle was a boon, at least it could get the right angle, especially so the grease could escape the end and go everywhere other than in the blasted suspension.
Have run out of kitchen rolls, swarfega and brake cleaner & I HATE the damn thing today..
AAAAAAAAAGH!!!! Steve, I totally agree with you & which is why after fighting with the process twice I had the remote kit fitted. OK you still need to look underneath to see what's happening but no more fighting with a grease gun lying on your back (did enough of that in my youth......)

Yes they do! And it's not any easier either - well having said that it's not too bad ...just a very messy job ...particularity if the grease gun needs fresh grease! I think you can buy a pre loaded grease cartridge for my gun..but guess what ..I cannot find any!!

Well I for one rather enjoy the process, it's a very easy job once you get the hang of it.
Filling a grease gun is easy too. Remove the reservoir tube, invert it over the plate in the top of the grease tub, press down whilst withdrawing the plunger, screw it back into the gun, job done.

It's part of the enjoyment that and cleaning off and re greasing the damper blades. Checking all the nuts and bolts are tight.....check there's no oil leaks from the one shot system which works well if used sparingly at the right intervals. But owning, running, servicing and repairing the car is one of my hobbies and we all have them for different reasons I guess  .
