A minor up date, I have just had a 50 mile run to the coast ( thick sea fog but then it is Bank Holiday ) and the exhaust tail pipe is cleaner, still not shiny bright but better si I guess that's all the boxes ticked.

You'll have to be polishing the inside of the pipe now Reg. I took the 'oval' tailpipe thing off as it looked a bit too much Modeo to me for a classic, replaced it with a stainless straight pipe..around the same time as my ecu flash so hard to tell the difference on blackness but I don't get that dribble black stuff out anymore.

Steve, "How very dare you" I always polish the inside of my tail pipe, oh, sorry I was thinking of something else but either way I don't get the tail pipe dribbles any more !!

As promised I said I would keep you informed re my e mail to the factory to ask about the ECU upgrade and the fact that I believed it would rectify the high revs on cold start up..............no reply from the factory.....might have to see if there is a possibility of obtaining an ECU from another source. After having mine upgraded a couple of months ago I find it is a definite improvement, the exhaust is still sooty but not as bad as it was, fuel consumption is better (gone from 30 mpg to 34mpg, my aero would return 32mpg!!!) low rev performance is better and the hesitation at 3000 has gone. Next stage is to have the emissions checked at an MOT station because when driving with hood up I'm sure I can smell exhaust fumes and they smell very rich (like the old days when the choke was on).
Apparantly I am led to believe BMW engines come as a package with ECU, Ford engines come without ECU so Morgan outsource the ECU, why can't they use Ford ECU's which will have had thousands spent on testing etc.
Shame the factory did not reply to my e mail (they also took two e mails and a phone call from a dealer before they responded to my first e mail regarding the ECU problems just after I bought it).
Customer service?
I take my hat off to you three wheel owners who have put up with such a lot, I am frustrated and fed up and my problems are miniscule compared to what you have had to go through.
