At last....got Nero out for a spin. Ankle seems to cope with some trial emergency braking 😀
In spite of fitting some factory wheels, my front end shimmy is still there....so flat spotted tyres now ruled out. In fact the shimmy seems worse, coming in at around 55mph. I'm mightily pissed off to say the least 😡
I've just seen the front damper kit off....that was rather a waste of money! Have you had the castor angle checked?

Jay. I seem to remember somebody fitted a dash cam underneath the front of a 3.7 to show suplex after fitting I think. Wondered if you might know someone who would be willing to fit one to the underside of your car to see if it shows what is happening. Just a thought. I had the shimmy at around 55 to 60 mph on my 2008 Roadster as well but it is now cured with new tyres and wheel balancing with a cone. I also made sure all the front end bolts and fittings were really tight ( some were not )on the cross member mounting points. Hope you can get it sorted.
Jim.

Almost the same reg as mine Paul... That's why it looked so familiar.

Quick ride out in the sun again today with my son as passenger, dropped into the local MOT station and had the emissions checked on my GDI engine...passed with flying colours, he did say it was possibly running a bit lean!! Thought it might be running too rich as exhaust is always sooty. Ian

That's really good to hear Ian and fills me with confidence!
I wonder if the 'soot' is related to the crankshaft ventilation system?

Drove to Northampton in warm sunshine. Came home in a thunder storm.

Commuting for the last week as my Alfa made nasty noises and stopped boosting. I got it recovered to Alfa Worksop in Royston who have found the inlet manifold had snapped a couple of studs and blown out its gasket.
Today I got a storm warning from Mrs E around 4pm and was just in time to replace the tonneau with the hood.

I took the plus 8 down to a meeting of the all british car show here in Orlando. It was overcast but really not too bad. Hood down of course. Tonneau on during the meeting. Light misting on the way home, until something shook the heavens and in came down in buckets. Had to pull into a old gas station to find overhead shelter. Put the hood up, and drove home. Warm with the hood up and the side curtains on. Better than getting wet though ( I should say more wet. I was already soaked.) Drove the rest of way home without drama. The good news is I tested the tires in wet. All good!
Cheers,
Mark
