Here is the skinny on the fuses from the factory.
The fuse was the 10 amp in the black square fuse box. When it blows it shuts down then fuel pump. IF your 10 amp fuse works and you don't have problems, there is no absolute need to change it. However, some cars have experienced a problem, mainly those that have the engine over-run after switching off the ignition, and this can cause a problem with the 10 amp fuse. The 20 amp fuse is recommended in these instances and the wiring is more than sufficient to cope with it being 20 amp.
So, the change is optional. My car has had the engine over-run fix so that may be why I've not had a problem with that 10amp fuse. So, the choice is yours, however, I will keep an extra 20 amp fuse in the car and should I have a problem I will change over from 10 to 20amp.

The fuse in question in my S4 is 20A. Robert

Robert, it seems that some cars have already been fited with the 20 amp but it isn't always neccessary. I guess things get complicated by different software versions etc of the ECU anc control modules etc which possibly can have a knock on effect elsewhere.

Dear friends, Saturday, the 20A fuse blew again. Fortunately it did not happen while taking over two 40 tons lorries on a narrow road with heavy traffic. I conclude the problem is deeper and my Morgan Agent will have to sort it out. Will keep you posted.

Dear all, Reading the forum, it looks like I am not the only one enjoying ongoing electronic troubles. After having left my Aero three weeks at the Garage Autobritt in order to find an explanation regarding the 20A fuse regular blow; there has been no satisfaying conclusion. To cut it short, I took her back last Friday thinking the checks performed were reassuring because nothing was found even after they drove the car for 250 KM. Well, I had fun for 30 KM and then....no response again and the engine stalled with -for the first time- the yellow engine warning on. I changed the fuse started the engine and moved 50 meter until it blew again. Second change - yellow engine warning still on - and it did work until destination 20 KM further. What to do ? Does anybody knows whether the factory would take it back (at their cost)to look at it deeply ? Open with pleasure for your feedback.

Good Evening Jean Pierre,
Sorry to hear about your continued woes.
I would be proceeding down the route that you suggest in a quietly persuasive but perseverant manner.
I would certainly want my car back at the factory if it had experienced the problems of your car.
Regards,
Robert
