Loved the Silverstone Classic 2 yeats ago.
To be able to walk through the pits/garages was awesome with so many iconic originals there.

Nearest I ever get to classic cars racing is either Shelsley Walsh or Castle Combe. I'd be interested in hearing a bit more about Silverstone and Le Mans classic

I've done the "proper" one a few times (3 IIRC) and the classic once. You definitely get closer to the action at the classic although I was disappointed by the lack of "Goodwood" attire.
The "Proper" one is "proper" expensive - especially if you want a fairly secure spot for pieces of expensive metal.

I've done the main race in June 16 or 17 times since 1997 when the rumours first surfaced that Morgan was entering a car.
Although that didn't happen till 2001 we were hooked and just kept going every year anyway, missing the odd year here or there. It has changed over the years as all events do, so having been last year I decided to give the classic another go this year instead. I haven't been to LMC since 2008 and expect it'll still be like a goodwood or Henley but the appeal to me is the cars all fantastically maintained and passionately driven.
Really looking forward to it.
