Hi,
This is a Zetec Silver Top engine. I want a replacement Lambda Sensor but from a Morgan dealer it is £115+ whilst EBAY have Ford sensors from about £15. Does anyone know the exact type of sensor on this car so I can check with suppliers.

I am in a similar situation with a 2008 car, advice from a friend at a Morgan dealership (no names no pack drill ;-)) is to get the serial number off the sensor and cross reference it with an NGK catalogue......that's what they do, he said a fraction of the price and more reliable....they use a local factors so worth a try, that what I will do when I change mine next winter.

Can you remember the front/back part numbers for your 2008 +4? Just in case when I remove mine I cannot read the serial numbers.

Sorry, I should have been clearer, I have not done mine yet and will do the job next winter when the car is not being used as much. All that's happening at the moment is the MIL light comes on when driving slow, no limp mode and I leave the harness from my code reader connected so I can clear the code in under a minute. I asked if the dealer had a note of numbers and was told they change which is strange as the main thing is number of wires, wire colour, wire length and connector plug type....round or square.....If I can't read the numbers I will try the factors for a match from the suppliers or try some photos and dimensions via NGK. If it were a one size fits all I suspect given the numbers of failures the numbers would have been circulated by now ;-).

Not at all, it's quite common for manufacturers to change OE part numbers as revisions occur. At Volvo we had a spate of thermal transmitter changes for the old 440 that saw 7 different part numbers for the sender units in about 18 months, each one gave a slightly different resistance. All about drivability complaints.....in the finish the dealers were pulling their hair out. Ford are also well known for this as they source parts from many plants they own around the world.
