Originally I fancied leather, but the leather one I found doesn't have a 6 speed insert available with reverse at the top left.. and the more I have seen the Ally/Chrome ball types the more I like them.
So I have gone for a Richbrook ball type, because it is solid aluminium I have the option to use some emery cloth to give it a more satin finish which will match the top of the handbrake.. if of course I think the polished is a bit much when fitted. All the interiors are so unique it is hard to picture it until in place.
Alistair thanks for the instructions, however I am hoping (almost there) to be obtaining a proper short shift kit, bearings and all - so I won't need to cut down the shaft as I will have a new one with the kit.
It arrived on Friday, I must say I am very happy with it as it isn't as shiny as in the picture - and it matches the top of the handbrake lever perfectly!
So it looks completely factory, which I love.
All sent off now to be added to my short shifter kit, the first to be produced in over ten years I believe...
