I would tend to put both on - I think you'll find otherwise the passenger side of the cover will become overwhelmed with water and spill into the car where the dividing zip is in the cover. In part it will be made worse by the unequal pressure you have created by being lop sided.
Water tends to drive up on the door sides after a prolonged run in medium rain without screens on I have noticed.
Yes good points, I think you are right - it's either non or both on for added wind and rain protection

Have just had "flap" stitched over the zip to stop water seeping through zip - particularly when it rains overnight.

Not sure but I tour with both side screens in. Easy storage. Always in the right place at the right time and helps with the wind buffeting. All in all just more comfortable. When it rains I put up the hood. Bright, hot, sun I use My "Bimini Top". Made of white Sunbrella it keeps light rain off and protects from the Wind and Sun. I do not use the side curtains with the "Bimini Top". Two of My Morgans have a "Bimini Top". The DHC has a zipper in the hood for ventilation.

Whats a bit if water your skin is water proof and your clothes will dry out . I got soaked last year it took three days for my overalls to dry but I kept ing . The public thought I was nuts ( no comment ) Go on give the folks a laugh they think we are hard buggers running around in open 1930s rag top cars . Why change .

I can't be bothered putting the hood up as its so neatly rolled and tucked away. Yes, four-seaters are like that with their multiple-hinged frame and acres of fabric. Three minutes to put mine up and locked, but fifteen/twenty minutes to fold it back (top two folds out; bottom fold in - just like Shaun at Allon White told me), tuck in the sides and stow it neatly under the hood cover. Purely a personal view, but as I run all the time with hood down and sidescreens (x4) off I am reluctant to pre-arrange trips precisely because of the dilemma you are facing. Decision time usually about 8am - going to be a dry day? Great, let's go! If there is anything pre-arranged that I have to attend and it looks like rain, then I have found hood up and sidescreens off gives reasonable protection; the outer fringe of the hood approaches the horizontal position and channels water outwards - and it looks better than an asymmetric appearance, I would have thought.
